For each destination below, one page lists what is reported near it right now: active fires, weather warnings in force, earthquakes in the last week, the wildfire danger forecast and, where there is one, the volcano's latest official notice. Every section shows when it was read and where it came from.

These pages do not judge safety. They report facts from official and scientific sources. Whether to travel is for you, your tour operator and the government travel advice each page links: the UK Foreign Office and the US State Department. When a source cannot be read, the page says so instead of showing "none".

Is it safe to travel to these places right now?

This site does not give a verdict on travel. Each page lists the fires, weather warnings, earthquakes, fire danger and volcano notices reported near one destination right now, with the time each was read, and links the UK and US government travel advice for that country.

Where does the information come from?

From the data this site already collects: NASA FIRMS fire detections and agency reports, MeteoAlarm weather warnings from Europe's national weather services, USGS and EMSC earthquakes, the EFFIS fire danger forecast (Copernicus) and the volcano observatories' notices.

What does "could not be read" mean?

That one source did not answer when the page was built. The page then says it cannot tell, rather than showing "none": a missing answer is not an all-clear.

Why is my destination missing?
