Delete your data — World Natural Disasters app
Last updated: September 25, 2026
This page is for the World Natural Disasters app for Android
(com.worldnaturaldisasters.wnd_app, on Google Play) and iPhone
(com.worldnaturaldisasters.wndapp, on the App Store), published by
Shahzeb Speaks and operated by Shahzeb Speaks LLC,
1500 N Grant St, Denver, CO 80203-1859, United States.
It tells you exactly what to do to have your data deleted, what gets deleted, and what is never held by us in the first place. The full policy is at App Privacy Policy.
The short version
If you have never used Family Circle, we hold nothing to delete. Your watched places, alert history and settings are stored on your phone and are never uploaded to us — not even to a cloud backup. Uninstalling the app erases all of it.
How to request deletion
Option 1 — delete everything yourself, in the app (immediate)
On iPhone, and on Android from app version 0.4.3:
- Open the app and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete my Family Circle data, and confirm.
This takes effect immediately. It removes you from every circle, deletes the display names you chose, your safety status, every report you sent (and any photo attached to one), the invite codes you created, and the device identifier we issued to your phone. Circles other people are still in carry on without you; a circle you were the last member of is deleted outright, with every place shared into it. If the button is not there, this phone never joined a circle and we hold nothing about it.
Option 2 — leave one circle at a time
- Open the app and go to Family Circle from the Home screen.
- Open the circle you want to leave.
- Tap Leave circle, and confirm.
This takes effect immediately. Leaving removes your membership, the display name you chose for that circle, and your safety status. When the last member leaves, the circle itself and every place shared into it are deleted outright.
To erase everything else, uninstall the app. Everything not described above lives only on your device.
Option 3 — email us (we reply within 30 days)
Email admin@shahzebspeaks.com from any address, with the subject line “Delete my data”, and include:
- the name of the app — World Natural Disasters;
- the name of the circle you were in;
- the display name you used inside that circle;
- roughly when you joined it.
We will delete the device identifier we issued and everything attached to it, and confirm by reply. We do not ask you to prove who you are, because we do not know who you are — see “What we cannot do” below.
What is deleted
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your device identifier | Deleted. This is the only identifier we issue, and it is created only if you create or join a circle. |
| The display name you chose inside a circle | Deleted. |
| Your safety status (safe / needs help) and any note | Deleted. |
| Places shared into a circle | Deleted when the last member leaves the circle. While other members remain, a place shared by you stays available to them. |
| Reports you sent about an event, and any photo attached | Deleted by Option 1 or on request. Leaving a circle does not delete them, because reports are not part of a circle. |
| Invite codes you created | Deleted with the circle. They are stored hashed and expire after 48 hours in any case. |
What is kept, and for how long
- Nothing is kept after deletion for a user who leaves every circle. There is no archive, no soft-delete and no shadow copy.
- Server request logs may retain an IP address for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, as they do for any visitor to any website. They are not linked to your device identifier and are not used to rebuild anything that was deleted.
- Backups. A deletion is applied to live data immediately. Routine database backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle and are fully replaced within 30 days.
What we cannot do
We hold no account, no email address, no phone number and no real name. The only thing identifying a record on our servers is an identifier the app was issued automatically, and a copy of it is held on your phone — it is never shown to you and never sent to us by email.
That is why the details asked for above are the circle name and your display name: they are what we can actually match a record against. If you were the last member of a circle, leaving it already deleted everything, and there will be nothing for us to find.
The trade-off is deliberate. Holding an account, an email address or a verified identity would make deletion requests easier to process — and would mean holding exactly the personal data this app is built not to hold.
Advertising
Adverts in the app are served by Google AdMob, which reads your device’s resettable advertising identifier. That identifier belongs to your phone’s operating system, not to us, and we cannot delete it. On Android you can reset or delete it at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. On iPhone it is only read if you allowed tracking when iOS asked, and you can withdraw that in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Either way the app keeps working exactly as before. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you can also change your consent from Settings → Ad privacy choices inside the app.
Website subscriptions are separate
If you subscribed to email alerts on worldnaturaldisasters.com, that is separate from the app. Use the unsubscribe link in any alert email, or the manage-preferences link, which removes your address entirely. See the website privacy policy.
