Disasters Near Me

Choose a place and a distance to see the disasters reported near it recently — earthquakes, floods, storms, wildfires, volcanic activity and more — with each event's date, distance and source.

Example: within 1000 km of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, the last 30 days

20 events were reported within 1000 km of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan in the last 30 days.

What counts as "near"

Distance is measured in a straight line over the Earth's surface from the place searched to the point each agency gave for its event. For a flood, a drought, a heatwave or a storm that covers a wide area, that point is only where the report was placed: the event itself can reach closer than the distance shown, or not as far.

Data coverage

The events are the ones reported by the agencies this site follows — the US Geological Survey and EMSC for earthquakes, GDACS, NASA, national weather and warning services and others; the data sources page lists them all. Some countries publish far more warnings than others, so counts are not comparable between countries. This site began recording events on 21 July 2026, so a longer period holds only what feeds were still carrying from before then.

No reported events is not the same as no risk. For what to prepare for where you live, see the safety guides and your country's page.

Questions

How is "near" measured?

In a straight line over the Earth's surface, from the place you search to the point each agency gave for its event, within the distance you choose, from 50 to 1,000 km. For a flood, drought or storm that covers a wide area, that point is only where the report was placed.

Does no reported disaster near me mean my area is safe?

No. It means none of the sources this site follows reported an event there in that time. For what to prepare for where you live, see the safety guides and your country's page.

Is my location stored when I use "Use my location"?

No. Your browser asks first, and the position is rounded to about 1 km, used for that search only and not stored by this site.
