Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 18, 2026

1. Acceptance

By using WorldNaturalDisasters.com ("the Site") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Nature of the service

The Site aggregates natural-disaster information from third-party official sources and presents it for general informational purposes. The Site is not an official warning service and issues no warnings of its own.

3. No reliance for safety decisions

Data may be delayed, incomplete, preliminary or revised by the originating agencies. Do not base life-safety decisions on this Site. Always follow your local emergency services and national authorities.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: disrupt or overload the Site; scrape at abusive rates; attempt unauthorized access; or misrepresent Site content as official warnings.

5. Reports you send

If you send a report through our Android app, the following applies. The full rules are in our Content Policy, which forms part of these terms.

  • You keep ownership of your photograph. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it on the relevant event page and in the app, for as long as that page exists. We do not sell it, license it on, or use it for advertising.
  • You confirm it is yours to send — that you took the photograph, that it shows what you say it shows, and that it was taken at the place and around the time you are reporting. A recycled photograph of a different event is the commonest form of disaster misinformation and is not permitted here.
  • You confirm it does not identify anyone — no faces, no vehicle plates, no documents, no house numbers — and does not show casualties or a person in distress.
  • Reports are published unverified. We do not check a report before it appears and make no representation that any report is accurate. Nothing in a report is our statement.
  • We may remove any report and may stop a device sending further reports, at our discretion and without notice, including where we simply cannot tell whether it complies.
  • You may delete your own report at any time from the app.

6. Intellectual property

Site design, code and original editorial content are our property. Underlying disaster data belongs to the originating agencies under their respective terms (largely public domain or open licences). Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors; tiles © CARTO.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the Site or its information.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
