Subtropical Storm Josephine - centre is about 300 km southeast of Cape Cod moving northeast (3 p.m. ADT Thursday).
This is the 2nd bulletin from the CHC on this storm which is forecast to transform back to a non-tropical low later today while intensifying and bringing up to hurricane-force winds over southern Canadian waters. The centre will track eastward well south of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
Periods of rain will continue to spread across parts of Nova Scotia today and southeastern Newfoundland later today. Gusty northeast winds will accompany the rain tonight but this weather is primarily associated with a developing front and only indirectly connected to Josephine.
This bulletin is geographically set for portions of the Maritimes Marine district slope waters nearest to the track of the storm.
A CHC-specific track/intensity forecast is not planned since the storm will be sub-tropical for only a short period before quick transition to frontal system this evening. Another update to this bulletin is planned for Friday morning.
Forecaster: Fogarty
