- A near-record to record surge of monsoonal moisture combined with
two merging storm systems will bring a prolonged multi- day
period of showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy
rainfall. Combined with already rain soaked ground conditions,
there is a high risk of flash flooding.
- Low-lying, poorly drained areas, urban areas and arroyo systems
will be most susceptible. Near rivers and streams will see rises,
potentially reaching flood stage. Recent burn scars including the
Ruidoso area burn scars, Frijoles, Sacaton, Hummingbird, and
Whiskey burn scars.
